ACUPUNCTURE

For the Acupuncturist, Applied Myoskeletal Soft-Tissue Therapy  (AMT) offers you an excellent soft tissue therapy to complement your Acupuncture. There are times when your patient may need an alternative treatment approach in conjunction with your acupuncture treatments. Rather than refer to a Bodyworker, AMT offers you a soft tissue method that is very compatible with your treatments as you can treat through light clothing, no oil is required, periods of letting the client rest are advantageous during a treatment, and the therapeutic response is fast. The basic pelvic, leg length, and sacrum corrections would be of most help, and they can be completed within the first 5 minutes of a session. An acupuncturist can take full advantage of the AMT “Less is More” principle for outstanding results. Many of the moves are over important acupuncture point locations, making the therapy an ideal compliment to acupuncture. AM Meridian Therapy is incorporated into the treatments from Module 4 onwards. It involves the use of a cross fibre move followed by a vector specific hold at acupoint sites following a protocol familiar to all acupuncturists.

Option 1:

Include AMT in part at the commencement of your treatment when you identify a need, and then proceed with your acupuncture treatment. You then have the option of giving the client a take home, Neuromuscular Re-education Exercise to break the muscle memory cycle, aiding in long-term recovery.

Option 2:

Offer your clients a new, stand-alone modality when you identify a need for more hands on work. Attract a different clientele by diversifying. You may attract some clients that would not normally go to an acupuncturist. Once they are familiar with you and your work you can slowly introduce them to the benefits of acupuncture.
