Rotator Cuff Surgery Avoided
Dear John,
For your clients let me first recap why I came to visit you. I had what seemed to be a torn rotator cuff and for some time could not lift my right arm to a position below horizontal.
I visited my GP and followed that with all the normal analysis, xrays, scans etc etc. This was followed by a referral to a leading “shoulder specialist” who confirmed the diagnosis and suggested that I was a candidate for immediate surgery. I chose a one-time injection to see if that might delay the surgery but to no avail. The specialist set a return date three months forward, an appointment I did keep.
It was at this juncture that I met one of your “patients” who described how you had “fixed” his knees. With nothing to lose I made an appointment with you and after the first session had incredible relief. You had, from the outset, stated that it should take a minimum of three treatments to show improvement. (Applied Myoskeletal comment – If not it would have been suggested to stop the treatment, as if Applied Myoskeletal could help it would show some improvement within three treatments). In my case it was the first session but as I was actually reluctant to accept at first that the benefit could be so incredibly good, I kept the three appointments with you and I must say that the results were so spectacular that I went on to win two Club championships at golf that year without pain.
Whilst it may not be necessary and of my own volition, I come back for a “body tune up”, about each three months.
My wife and I have recommended many people to you and with few exceptions the story is the same. We are of the view that you are an exceptional talent and that the Garfield Therapy DOES work.
Sincerely
John V. Allen F.C.A.
N.B. Mr Allen was treated with Applied Myoskeletal methods. As John Garfield’s treatment method did not become registered and known as Applied Myoskeletal Soft-Tissue Therapy until 2013 Mr Allen referred to it as the “Garfield Therapy”.
The College of Applied Myoskeletal Therapy does not imply that surgery can always be avoided and acknowledges that that surgery is at times the only option available once other less invasive treatments have failed.
Chronic and Non-Responsive Pelvic Pain Relief
I came to see John with symptoms ranging from acute pain with different movements, to continual discomfort in my pelvic area on my right side, this pain was through my lower abdominal area. I was only able to do walking as an exercise, any gym workouts, general stretching, swimming, yoga or gentle short jogs would result in severe pain almost to the point of blacking out.
I am a registered Bowen Therapist and I would say Applied Myoskeletal is a very effective treatment. I have been to see a few different bodywork therapists who relieved a bit of the discomfort (I do not discount that they did shift and help me) yet the pain would still be there and the continual discomfort would come back within a day or so. My Doctor had ruled out any serious medical conditions but was unsure why I was experiencing the pain.
During the first visit to John he did an assessment after which he treated me with Applied Myoskeletal. My body felt different within the first few moves, I could feel a shift in my whole pelvic / sacral area. The treatment was effective not only with the presenting symptoms, but also with the underlying cause. John gave me insight to what my body was presenting with and advised muscle re-education exercises, along with his clinical treatments. I took his advice and did these everyday for the recommended time.
The pain and discomfort has not returned. Now after two visits within a four-week period, I still do not have this pain that troubled me for years. I am back at the gym doing yoga and stretching without any discomfort and my sessions last a lot longer. I can enjoy swimming without stopping and having to wait until I feel better and I am slowly building up jogging with interval training with no side effects. This has given me a new confidence with my body.
I would recommend anyone to see John Garfield with Applied Myoskeletal Therapy as an insightful and effective treatment. I look forward to John Garfield’s course on Applied Myoskeletal to add to my skills as I see how rewarding it will be for my clients to have the benefits of this work.
